Abstrakt: Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma is a malignancy of helper T-cells with marked affinity for epidermal tissue. The disease may arise in the skin through neoplastic transformation of normal helper T-cells that naturally migrate through the epidermis. The transformed T-cell divides, forming a clone of malignant helper T-cells that initially retain the characteristics of their normal T-cell ancestor including phenotype, function, and homing pattern. As the disease progresses, more malignant progeny might arise, expressing altered surface antigens and loss of affinity for the epidermis.
