Abstrakt: The article explores the provenance of the "Standing adorned Buddha" bronze sculpture that is under the keeping of the National Gallery of Australia. Topics discussed include the artistic depiction of the Buddha, the detection of patches of bronze disease or corrosion, and the performance of thermoluminiscent tests which confirmed that the sculpture was made in the 12th century. Speculations on the sculpture's most recent chain of ownership are then mentioned.
