The purpose of the geotechnical monitoring measurement in tunnel is to obtain data about the changes in behaviour of rock massif around the tunnel and in stress state of the secondary lining. These field measurement data permit the verification calculation assumption, which was used for construction design, and confirming the theory of gradual degradation of primary lining in time. This article deals with analysis of the geotechnical monitoring results from the Branisko tunnel which was carried out during the years from 2003 till 2013. The measurement data are utilizing for comparison the static calculations of the supposed load cases of permanent lining and real increase of stresses, which are expected regarding to gradual degradation of the primary support elements in time, so the secondary lining must progressive assume the burden. The static analysis was performed in two different models developed for different static patterns: the original scheme of the crown (with two hinges) and new one (with three hinges), which was established by creating cracks in permanent lining. The models were solved by nonlinear analysis FEM with sequential phasing. The aim of static analysis was to evaluate the measurement data from long-term geotechnical monitoring by solution of models and confirm the theory of degradation primary lining.
