Reduction of energy consumption of residential buildings are recommended by European directives, which would be Slovakia fulfill in the year 2020. If the residential buildings have to be energy efficient, than one of the measures is the quality of the insulation. The cost of the insulation can be effectively reduced if the structural systems of MMC is use. The purpose of the paper is compare the cost between MMC wall construction systems (Quad-Lock-ICF, Velox) and conventional construction system (Porotherm 30T Profi, Ytong Lambda and monolithic reinforced concrete construction) in the segment of residential houses. In this paper is also analyzed the unit elaborateness of the various technologies and energy requirements are characterized by values of heat transfer coefficient (U). Also, the article will deal with the water vapour pressure in the layout of a typical wall construction site, which is also an indicator of the appropriate selection of wall construction for the reduction of energy consumption of residential buildings.
