Abstrakt: The topographic methods of tracking the surface movement were the first methods in special literature, which highlighted the influence the underground mining exerts on the earth's crust surface. The topo-geodetic methods used to determine the construction movements and deformations, due to their peculiarities, are the most commonly used in calculating the absolute and relative sizes of the observed deformations. The general aspects of the studied issues are approached starting from a broad generalization of the subsidence phenomenon and by means of simple mathematical assumptions. These methods consist of adopting computation relations for the main parameters that define the bed dipping and characterize the phenomenon of subsidence. This paper aims to make a review of the most used topographic methods in the analysis of the subsidence phenomenon, and also to highlight some results, by presenting a case study run at a mine site in Romania which was and is affected by the phenomenon of subsidence.
