The results of investigations for fabrication of multifunctional bulk ultrafine grained, amorphous and nanocomposite materials in Titanium-Nickel-Aluminum-Boron system are presented in the paper. The crystalline Ti, Ni, Al coarse elementary pure (at list 99%) powders and amorphous Boron were used as precursors. The blend with different Ti, Ni, Al, B powders were prepared. The high energetic premium line planetary ball mill was used for preliminary processing of the powders mixture. The processes of particles fragmentation, amorphization and syntheses of new phases were observed during the mechanical alloying of the blend in the ball mill. The nanopowder fabrication was achieved under ball milling for particular compositions of the blend. The optimal technological regimes for nanopowder preparation were determined experimentally. Phase composition and particle sizes of the blend components were controlled by X-ray diffraction system. Ball milled blend compacted by explosive consolidation technology and nanostructured bulk composite materials are fabricated. The technological parameters of the nanocomposites fabrication, as well as the structure-properties relationship are discussed in the paper. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
