The article deals with a detailed study of combustion of gaseous fuels. It presents a new prototype of a combustion chamber, which is designed to examine the combustion of gaseous fuels and related processes, such as turbulent flow of flue gas, heat radiat ion, etc. The main outputs of this system, which are applicable, for example, in the case of burner optimisation, or verification of mathematical models, are the determinations of the concentration, temperature, pressure and velocity fields in the combustion area. The article shows the results and conclusions of the first experiments when testing a new component (mixing element) for low-pressure burners to combust natural gas (NG) and alternative fuels with a similar Wobbe Index to NG. As it turned out, the proposed mixing element had a positive effect on the combustion process in certain aspects. In addition, one of the main objectives of the article is to raise a wider scientific interest in the area of modern diagnostics of the combustion processes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
