Abstrakt: There are more than 3.5 thousand lakes in South Ural, Russia. The study is to research the phytoplankton communities of Lakes Ilmenskoe and Uvildy and to evaluate their ecological state. The research was carried out in June and July 2015. Eleven sampling points on Lakes Ilmenskoe and Uvildy were selected for the research. The expanded analysis of saprobity using the indicator species rate and value was conducted to evaluate the water pollution level of the lakes. The comparative analysis of species diversity showed the similarity of the phytoplankton communities. Lake Ilmenskoe accounts for 71 species and intraspecies taxa of microalgae relating to 48 genera, 39 families, 18 orders, 14 classes, 7 divisions. Lake Uvildy numbers 74 species and intraspecies taxons relating to 50 genera, 39 families, 18 orders, 14 classes, 8 divisions. The predominant divisions are Cyanophyta (blue-green algae) and Bacillariophyta (diatomic algae). Blue-green algae prevail in Lake Ilmenskoe while diatomic algae prevail in Lake Uvildy. Among other dominant species we met are Microcystis aeruginosa, Anabaena flos-aquae, Fragilaria crotonensis, Asterionella formosa. So the saprobiological method let us characterize the ecological state of the lakes as satisfactorily clear. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
