Abstrakt: The article focuses on the aspects of permafrost, a subsurface earth materials which include soil and rocks that exists below or at 0°C in two or more consecutive years. Topics discussed include the association between active layer thickness (ALT) and permafrost temperature and climatic changes, the variation of the temperatures in various permafrost areas, and the impact of ALT thickness to the surface temperature warming.
