Abstrakt: The article reports on grants funded by the U.S. National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). NEA has awarded over $25.3 million in grants in its first round of major funding for fiscal year 2004. Creativity grants support the creation and presentation of work. Projects may include commissions, residencies, rehearsals, workshops, performances, exhibitions, publications, festivals, and professional development programs. The grant figures for New York State has been higher than in 2002, when in April NEA provided New York theaters and other arts groups with 200 grants totaling $6.3 million. Top New York grants include, grant of $45,000 to Vineyard Theatre for musical theater and new play development labs, grant of $42,000 to Music-Theatre Group.
