Abstrakt: | The article presents a study which investigations the association of common functional polymorphisms in antioxidant genes (SOD2, CAT, GPX, GSTP1, GSTM1 and GSTT1) with the development or clinical course of Hurthle cell thyroid carcinoma (HCTC). Materials and methods used in the study which involved 139 patients treated by thyroid surgery for a Hurthle cell neoplasm are offered. Results suggest the influence of GPX1 polymorphism on the risk for recurrent disease in HCTC. |
