The present paper evidences the existence of an analytical equation expressing the different physical parameters of a passively Q-switched laser. This equation is obtained by studying the laser linear stability and allows computing the saturable absorbents concentration. This concentration optimizes the laser peak power. The analytical equation is validated by comparing the obtained results with that of the numerical simulation as well as that obtained by other authors.
