The article explores the power of art making in medicine and discusses some of the challenges that can often occur when arts-based methods are not recognized, based from experiences shared by some artists. It discusses the result of elective, for-credit, expressive arts courses designed by an educator which focused on the complexities and challenges of personal development and the experience shared by a harpist with a man who was actively dying of emphysema. |
