The article discusses the discourses on female genital cutting (FGC) in response to a paper by Brian D. Earp on the moral relativism and moral hypocrisy concerning female genital mutilation (FGM). Topics addresses include the conceptions by people in the West of FGC, the attitudes and actions of the United Nations and World Health Organization (WHO) toward FGC, and the prevalence of FGC among the Kono people. The implication of FGC for female sexual health is mentioned. |
