Background and aims: Information seeking and searching of information is an important action in human society. So, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between information-seeking behavior and satisfaction of internet users among the medical students of in Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This research was a cross-sectional study to examine the relationship between the behavior of internet users searching for information and satisfaction among medical students in Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences in the academic year from 2014 -2015. To investigate the specific and original hypothesis was used Pearson correlation coefficient. Data for 225 students were collected using stratified random sampling in different periods in medical field using a questionnaire made by researcher. Results: The most use of the internet is related to public search engines like Google and Yahoo and the least to the use of external library catalogs. The most important factors for influencing satisfaction was the time spent to achieve the desired subject and the lowest levels of satisfaction was related to use of knowledge and information science and libraries experts services. The most common method used in the search was the subject of the article and the most problem was low speed of internet in search of information. In the category of individual factors, use the preferred language was the most important factor when searching for information. The most effective environmental factors when searching for information, was enough facilities such as favorable weather and adequate sunlight and the most important factor related to information was the size and volume of the file. Conclusion: There is lack of awareness and planning to relive the need for information and guidance in the field of information seeking behavior, especially students in libraries and information centers. It is proposed to increase the budget and employment of specialist, to provide an opportunity to address the issue of information-seeking behavior of users, libraries and information centers.
