Abstrakt: The popular press is replete with advice for entrepreneurs to be "coachable". This is not surprising, given that in addition to financial capital, investors are often expected to take on a coaching role through the commitment of their time, energy and knowledge. What is surprising is the dearth of attention coachability has been given in the academic literature. Even the popular accounts fail to provide a systematic treatment of the construct. In this study, we define the construct and establish a coachability scale. We also establish the nomological network by examining empirical relationships with both antecedents and outcomes. Our findings suggest that coachability is an important construct offers great potential for future academic research as well as practical significance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
