Abstrakt: | The article discusses findings of a study to determine the incidence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in American Indian adults with type 2 diabetes. It notes that 21.8 percent of 218 survey respondents tested positive for PTSD using the Primary Care PTSD screener. It cites that the prevalence of PTSD on American Indians with type 2 diabetes remains insignificant as it relates to comorbid depression. It emphasizes the need to address the mental needs of persons with diabetes. |
