The article presents a proposal to maintain the name Aloe horombensis against a counterproposal to adopt Aloe subacutissima (Xanthorrhoeaceae), which is aimed at clarifying the taxonomy of the species both found in Madagascar. Several historical accounts are mentioned including the description of Aloe deltoideodonta by Baker in 1882, a collection of plants described by Reynolds as Aloe deltoideodonta var. intermedia H. Perrier, and the creation of the name Aloe subacutissima G.D. Rowley. |
