In Chinese culture, temples hold a high degree of importance. The intent of this paper is to introduce a construction program that can be used to educate students in the complete erection sequence of these temples, which has not been discussed before in the literature related to their construction. A typical Chinese temple consists of its foundation, elevated floor platform, walls and columns, and roof system. An intelligent system that includes graphical simulation is presented as a learning tool for our students. Currently, the discussion of the system in this paper is limited to a distinctive part of Chinese roof temples known as the dougong. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
