The article reports on the Washington State Academic RedShirt (STARS) Program that to increase the number of engineering graduates from either the University of Washington or Washington State University. The program is based on the University of Colorado’s GoldShirt Program and caters to students from economically- and educationally-disadvantaged backgrounds. |
