Abstrakt: The malignant fibrous histiocytoma is a tumor with mesenchymal origin and an unknown histiogenesis, being the most common form of soft tissue sarcoma of the adults: just 1-3% are located in the head and neck area. This paper presentes the clinical case of a 69 years old male who came at the ENT Clinic of the Central University Military Emergency Hospital „Dr. Carol Davila “, Bucharest with dyspnea, cough with hemoptysis and dysphonia. These symptoms began 6 months ago and had a progressive evolution. The pacient is also known with type II Diabetes, stage II Hypertension for which he receives a treatment. The CT scan showed a solid mass, of aprox. 1,9/1,4/3 cm, which occupies 80% of the lower larynx and upper tracheal space, from the crycoid section until the second tracheal ring. The mass had a irregular contour and a double antero- lateral insertion: upper - on the right side, lower - on the left side. The bronchological exam identified the mass with the same characteristics. The diagnosis was based on the histopathological exam af the biopsy taken during a suspended microlaringoscopy and the treatment was a total laringectomy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
