Abstrakt:	The article presents information on Suvorexant (Belsomra) which is labeled for the treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulties with sleep onset and/or sleep maintenance. It informs that unlike other hypnotics, it blocks the binding of neuropeptides (orexin A and B) that promote wakefulness. Suvorexant is a central nervous system depressant. Its rare side effects include sleep paralysis, hypnagogic hallucinations, and mild cataplexy.
