Abstrakt: Objectives: This study compares the efficiency of manual K-files, rotary Protaper and HyFlex files in cleaning efficiency and instrumentation time in permanent & primary molars. Materials and Methods: Thirty primary and thirty permanent teeth were selected and instrumented with manual K-files, rotary ProTaper and Hyflex files. The teeth were decalcified, dehydrated and cleared, and analyzed for the presence of dye remaining on the root canal walls, which served as an evidence of cleaning efficiency of both manual and rotary techniques. Results: The results showed a statistically significant difference in the cleaning efficiency of K-file & ProTaper in the apical & middle thirds of the root canals between primary & permanent root canals. The difference in instrumentation time taken with K-file, ProTaper & Hyflex was higher for ProTaper in both primary & permanent root canals & least for Hyflex but found to be not significant.
