The article focuses on the importance of early recognition and management of concussion, and the role of the school nurse in the issue in the U.S., particularly on the state of New Jersey. The authors look at some of the issues, including a lack of training/information and non-compliance with legislation. Topics discussed include a brief background on concussions, the state of New Jersey's legislation concerning traumatic brain injuries, and why compliance with state regulations is low. |
