The article discusses the importance of mummified fossils in the ecology and biotic evolution, as the source of in depth information related to geological time, in comparison to that of impression material. It states that these fossils are rarely found because of their features including moisture, temperature environments and lithological characters. Such fossils have been found in the Cenozoic sites with fossils including plant, ostracods and bivalves, which are preserved for investigations. |
