Abstrakt: The general model of the entropy value theory that explains what are the physical, social and monetary form of the value and how the four factors - natural environment, society, production, and consumption - are involved in the value mechanism. Applying this model in the management of natural resources at European level allows a better employment of the system approach that brings beside the traditional elements - labour, means of production, and objects of economic activities - information and environment. The concept of eco-field comprises material elements of the system that are united and coordinated by the genetic information. The value mechanism is interpreted within the area of action for the general laws of nature (economic potential). Value as a form of low entropy (economic potential) passes through human society and it is distributed in it. Its retention for a longer period within the economic cycle is one of the most important challenges. Building a novel model for value management will improve the understanding of this process with positive impact on the management of natural resources in both Romania and the European Union.
