Abstrakt: Introduction: Anesthesia and postoperative care of experience animals it's a subject rarely discussed into the research articles. But the subject it's difficult because of the preoperatively and postoperatively complications and also difficulties in inducing the anesthesia. Materials ad methods: We choose as a experience animals Wistar rats, males, 360-400 g, 5 groups, 6 animals each group. We utilize as anesthetic Ketamine 100mg/ml and preanesthetic we used Xilazine 2%. To reduce the pain we use Bupivacaine as a local anesthetic. Results: The anesthesia was induced in approximatively 15 minutes after the injection of the 1st dose of anesthetic and last for 2 hours. The awakening was smooth and without other associated problems. We interfere with difficulties in inducing the anesthesia because the rats doesn't have the same reaction at the substances used for anesthesia (Ketamine and Xilazine). The use of other preanesthesic substances (Midazolam 1mg/ml) produced a smoother awakening but inducing the anesthesia was harder in comparison with classic preanesthetic agent (xilazine). Purchasing the necessary substances for anesthesia it's difficult because of the Romanian legislation. Conclusion: Inducing the anesthesia it's a crucial step in leading a research project. During the experimental study we meet a series of difficulties that slowed down the effective process of research. It is required to have a protocol and a more extended study of anesthesia method in experience animals to avoid on future this kind of problems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
