The article describes the case of a 14-year-old boy who suffered from vesical hirudiniasis caused by a leech which entered through his penis while he was playing in a pond in a rural area. Topics covered include haematuria and urinary retention experienced by the boy, the actions taken to remove the leech from the boy's body and information on other cases of leech infestation. |
