The article focuses on the use of DIEP Flap in the modern reconstructive surgery. Topics discussed include medical officer Carl Manchot distinguished areas of skin vascularisation covering the entire surface of the human body, main advantage of perforator flaps is lower morbidity of the donor site, and blood supply of such flap is independent of underlying muscle. |
