The author highlights the development, circuit organization and structural plasticity of different types of neurons in the olivocerebellar system. He discusses their basic activity and synaptic plasticity, relevance of emerging network patterns in the olivocerebellar system and overall role of olivocerebellar system in the integration of sensorimotor control and cognition. The challenge of determining behavioral correlates of cerebellar-telencephalic connection in various species is also noted. |
