Abstrakt: We report the first record of a black lion tamarin (Leontopithecus chrysopygus; Primates: Callitrichidae) in Carlos Botelho State Park, southeastern Brazil, which is one of the most important protected areas in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. The species is listed as globally threatened by the IUCN, and our record and further confirmation of the effective colonization of this large continuous area of Atlantic forest may provide new perspectives for the conservation of this tamarin.
