Abstrakt:	The article discusses the work of Italian painter Giorgio Morandi. It is noted that a psychoanalytic approach offers an insight on the meaning of the art. It also studies his outward behavior and states that the biographers of Morandi have portrayed him as both sociable, in the Italian art world, and a recluse. The collection of his works represents the use of expressive techniques including oil painting, etching, drawing and watercolor.
