A biography of oceanographer John H. Martin is presented. Martin focused on microscopic taxonomic details for his Master of Science thesis, sometimes counting the hairs on the copepods' legs to understand how the community was built. Martin, together with his colleagues and students, reported the concentrations of manganese, iron, mercury, zinc, silver and their behavior in the oceans with the tools developed by Moss Landing Marine Laboratories (MLML). |
