| Abstrakt: | This article discusses the reinvention of a specific art historical entity of the past, called the art of Gandhara, by Western colonial regimes and post-colonial nation-states to justify and stabilize their changing identities. It discusses the concepts of world art history and global art history, the stylistic essences, and the relativisation of the operation terms of art history. |
