The article discusses the documentary evidence on the impact of poverty that causes of mental retardation. Topics discussed include the prevalence of functional retardation, research on malnutrition in the first three years of life shows permanent impair intelligence and millions of babies each year are prone to the risk of permanent retardation due to malnutrition, and the risk of brain damage due to physical accident. |
