Synthesis and antibacterial properties of 4-bromobenzohydrazide derivatives and crystal structure of ( E)- N′-((1 H-indol-3-yl)methylene)-4-bromobenzohydrazide.

Abstrakt: Six 4-bromobenzohydrazide derivatives ( 1-6) were synthesized by the condensation reaction of 4-bromobenzohydrazide and benzaldehydes, and evaluated for antibacterial activity. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods. In addition, the crystal structure of compound 6 was characterized by single crystal X-ray structure determination. In crystal packing, the molecules are linked by N-H···O and N-H···N hydrogen bonds into two-dimensional network parallel to the (001) plane. The crystal is further stabilized by weak C-H···O and C-H···π interactions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
