Abstrakt: The established different yield of rice varieties is largely determined by the proportion of sterile spikelets in panicles. The high magnitude of sterility in a number of genotypes is related to the low content of nonstructural carbohydrates in panicle tissues at the meiotic stage as a result of the increased use of plastic substances of shoots for the formation of more massive stems. The quantitative parameters of these traits can be used in breeding for productivity of rice varieties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
