Abstrakt: Two cases of rectal oleogranuloma, which simulated carcinoma, have been presented. In each instance, biopsy of an associated lesion suggested the need for radical surgical treatment. The presence of an extensive, possibly constricting but nonulcerated, mass in the rectum, even when high above the dentate line, should arouse suspicion of an iatrogenic oleogranuloma.
