| Abstrakt: |
The article reports on the use of oil tanks as nesting sites for kelp gulls on Deception Island, Antartica. Other man-made structures used as breeding sites for Charadriiformes include buildings in Great Britain and Ireland and sheds and towers in the Northern Hemisphere. The factors that trigger birds to colonize such structures include the lack of natural areas for reproduction. |
