Abstrakt: The article describes the case of a 28-month-old patient with Treacher Collins syndrome and severe Robin sequence who developed temporomandibular joint (TMJ) distraction ankylosis following mandibular distraction osteogenesis (MDO). It notes that correction of the ankylosis improved mandibular excursion but led to internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection and stroke. It highlights a rare complication of MDO and the potentially life threatening consequence of TMJ ankylosis correction.
