Abstrakt: The article explores the gender roles and clothing of U.S. women during World War II. Emphasis is given to topics such as the equation of womanhood with domestic life, the patriotic duties of women in war work, the recruitment of women to replace men in the workforce, and changes to women's fashion including pants and military uniforms.
