Abstrakt: The editor focuses on the British Supreme Court case Montgomery v. Lanarkshire Health Board in which the court dismissed the concept of medical paternalism and declared consent of the patient Nadine Montgomery as the legal standard in Great Britain. It also mentions that the supreme court rejected to go by the case where doctors' prudent judgment was given importance. It also discusses the case of Rogers v. Whitaker in the Australian High court, which was given in favor of the patient.
