The article discusses the deliberations of the Hikari Consortium of European and Japanese aerospace companies and research organizations on the viability of operating a network of supersonic to hypersonic transportation travelling at higher than Mach 5. It takes note of the reduction of Europe to Japan travel to less than three hours using a fleet optimized for structural, propulsion and cooling specifications. Project manager Emmanuel Blanvillain describes the group's initial proposal. |
