Conservative management: Nonoperative measures often relieve symptoms and improve signs of CTS. Patient's motivation is the key to success. First treat for coexisting conditions, such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, or myofascial dysfunction. Referred pain often responds to ice and heat massage, NSAIDs, wrist splints, stretching exercises, or low-dose antidepressants for sleep. CTS symptoms may improve from NSAIDs, wrist splints, vitamin B6, work changes, corticosteroid injections, and hand therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
