For persons with both visual and physical impairments, learning media assessments need to take into consideration various factors in addition to the typical areas that are addressed, including visual and physical efficiency, the types and prognoses of the visual and physical conditions, and the effectiveness of modifications to improve visual and physical efficiency. This article examines the areas of physical efficiency that are important to reading and writing braille or large print and conditions and modifications that may be used to make the selected media effective.
