Investigates the Potato MADS box 1 (POTM1) mediating the control of axillary bud development by regulating cell growth in vegetative meristem. Exhibition of decreased apical dominance accompanied by a compact growth by the reduced levels of POTM1; Increase in the cytokinin levels in axillary buds of transgenic suppression; Accumulation of POTM1 antisense and endogenous transcripts in suppression lines. |
