| Abstrakt: |
The present article deals with the information and views of children about sexual differences and the creation of babies. The method consisted in interviewing by aid of a questionnaire 185 children in the age range of 4-5 ½ years, boys and girls, from European and American as well as from North African and Asian ancestry. It was found that the level of information about sexual differences and the readiness to talk about sexuality are much higher than usually assumed. Concerning the creation of babies, the views center about 3 theories: the baby is created in the mother's belly from the food she eats, the baby has always existed in the mother's belly, the baby should be swallowed by the mother.
