Abstrakt: We report a case of calcifying aponeurotic fibroma affecting the scalp in a 9-month-old male child, a rare condition at an uncommon site. It is a benign tumor that primarily occurs in young patients and has a strong predilection for the distal extremities. Clinically and morphologically, this tumor needs to be differentiated from diffuse infantile fibromatoses, fibrous hamartoma of infancy, infantile fibrosarcoma, monophasic fibrous synovial sarcoma, nodular fascitis and chondroma of soft parts. Some of these would require extensive surgical treatment. Hence, familiarity with this entity is required for correct diagnosis and treatment, especially if it occurs at unusual site.
