Abstrakt: The article examines efforts to increase doctorates and faculty production for African Americans in computing science through the Institute for African-American Mentoring in Computing Sciences (iAAMCS) project funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation. Topics discussed include an overview of the African American doctorate and faculty production landscape from 2003 to 2013, the iAAMCS as an emerging national resource for diversifying computing sciences, and the development of a model by the iAAMCS to engage, support and sustain students via a national network.
