Abstrakt:	Data on magnetic stimulation (using a Magstim Rapid 2 magnetic stimulator) of the quadriceps muscles in professional athletes (cyclists and long jumpers) are presented. The experiments on three cyclists and four long jumpers, both male and female, have demonstrated an increase in the tension of FR muscle fibers (Burke's classification) during magnetic stimulation within the frequency range of motor unit activity. Differences between the two types of athletes resulting from specific characteristics of muscle tension during their typical muscle activity have been revealed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
